ARTIST STATEMENT
To create emotionally and intuitively, rather than intellectually.
To be spontaneous, slightly irrational and romantic, rather than classical.
The nature of my paintings is a projection of my inner self. This means, foremost, thoughts and emotions
that have occupied my mind for the most of my life. The constant inner struggle against prejudice and its
power, the unwavering belief that human race does have a higher purpose, the frustrating shortness of life,
and that everything happens only once, moments of happiness, sadness, fear, and the need to leave the
box, which is again all related to the shortness of life. It always starts with a vision. But the outcome is
almost always different from the intended goal. Sometimes colors evoke conflicting feelings in me, but
sometimes they come to tell me ,,we care about your melancholy“. It is important to absolutely identify
with every brush stroke or a combination of colors. This is also important for all who see the images. I
view painting as an act in which I find peace and balance...
,,There are as many images as eyes to see.“ – Sam Francis
